Accessibility statement.
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology, who navigate without a mouse, or who read at a different pace to most. This page sets out how we are getting there, what we know we have not got right yet, and how to tell us about anything else.
What we are aiming for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This site is built with that target in mind from the type system up.
What that means in practice
- Pages are built from semantic HTML so screen readers can map the structure properly.
- Text contrast is checked against the WCAG AA threshold for body copy and large display type.
- Every interactive element (links, buttons, form fields) can be reached and used with a keyboard. Focus styles are visible.
- Forms have visible labels and associated error messages, not just placeholder text.
- Movement and motion respect the operating system
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. Reveal and parallax effects step back when that preference is on. - Images that carry meaning have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive tech.
Known limitations
We are a small team and the site is new. There will be things we have not caught yet. The areas we are actively working on:
- Some embedded marketing forms (HubSpot, third-party) inherit their styling from the provider and may not meet our internal standard. We are reviewing those as they appear.
- PDF documents linked from the site are not yet guaranteed to be fully accessible. If you need a document in a different format, ask us.
- The interactive maps used inside some case studies are images for now. Text alternatives describe the location.
If something is hard to use
Tell us. Email info@whittakerpropertygroup.co.uk or call 0191 809 0778. Describe the page and the problem in as much or as little detail as you have. We will read it. Where the fix is small, we will apply it. Where it is larger, we will tell you the timeline and offer an alternative way to get what you needed in the meantime.
Alternatives
If any part of the site is not working for you, we will provide the same information another way. That includes valuations, property details, application processes, and case studies. Email or call us and we will arrange it.
Reviewing this statement
We review this page when we make a significant change to the site, and at least once every six months. Date at the top of the page tells you when it was last looked at.
